INTERNET DHABAS are treated as primary tool for
information support required for Indian citizens,
especially rural mass with the help of internet.
Globe has become a village where person to person
communication is of much importance. BSNL identified
INTERNET DHABAS for this purpose at all MANDALS
/ BLOCKS in first phase and subsequently to all
villages.
The concessions
offered to Internet Dhabas are here under :
1. Unlimited free Internet access for Internet
Dhabas at rural mandals and Free Internet access
of 1500 Hrs per annum for Internet Dhabas at Urban
mandals.
2. Internet Dhaba franchhisees in Rural and Urban
Block Head Quarters will be paid commission of
25% of the PSTN access charges.
3. The charges to be levied by the Internet Dhaba
franchise from the customer will be decided by
the market forces and the franchise may decide
the usage charges on hourly/half quarter hour
basis depending on his economics.
4. Telephone for franchisees will be provide4d
on out of turn basis with out STD / ISD facility
but the franchisee has to pay the registration
fee.
5. PCO franchisee want to convert the PCO as INTERNET
DHABA the same is permitted and the above concessions
will also be allowed. (However not to be provided
from PCO's where charges per call is less than
Rs. 1.20 in urban block Head Quarters).
6. Multiple number of Internet Dhabas franchisees
are allowed in rural and urban mandals (Except
for A1, A class cities).
7. Internet Dhabas franchisees criteria will be
as per New PCO allotment policy i.e., open for
all unemployed persons.
8. If any franchisee wants to set up Internet
Dhaba other than at the Mandal HQ, it is allowed
with the same concession.
